Besides spanking-new superintendency for children with various diaper illnesses, the department has defended neonatal and pediatric intensive superintendency unit.   The neonatal intensive superintendency unit is a 22 bedded accredited Level II B Neonatal unit with 7 intensive superintendency beds. Newborn superintendency is based on vestige based protocols with facilities for invasive and noninvasive ventilation. Babies weighing as low as 500 grams are taken superintendency of efficiently. Doctors trained in neonatal resuscitation protocols(NRP) are misogynist to shepherd all deliveries round the clock. There is weekly clinic for neurodevelopmental follow up for upper risk newborns. Daily vaccination clinics are conducted for all children visiting the hospital. The unit is tried for Neonatal Fellowship training.   The pediatric intensive superintendency unit is one of the oldest in Punjab with 7 ventilator beds and  monitoring devices. Doctors trained in PALS and trained staff nurses take superintendency of critically sick children round the clock. Sick children from 0 – 18 years of age are looked without efficiently in the ward.   There are a number of special clinics for variegated conditions in children. Such as The ChildMinutiaeClinic, TheYoungerClinic, Seizure Clinic and Daily Thalassemia day superintendency services, Asthma clinic. The younger clinic is a multi specialty clinic that takes superintendency of the special needs of the teenagers, with support from gynecology, dermatology, psychology and physiotherapy department. The child minutiae clinic is the first and only comprehensive clinic that cares for children with special needs such as behavioural problems, intellectual, hearing and visual disabilities. The Thalassemia services self-mastery daily transfusions (including Sundays) and provide multispecialty long term monitoring and superintendency to Thalassemic children.   The department has a well established training programme for Undergraduate and Postgraduate students. It is a recognized centre for providing specialized training to doctors for various diseases.  Almost all the sense is trained in Medical education technology and is a resource for various educational courses.   Besides superintendency of sick children, the department of pediatrics believes in standing to spread knowledge and awareness. Periodically sensation seminars are held for parents either in the hospital or on Radio and TV networks.
