In addition, this department is involved in the management of post-operative pain, vigilant and chronic pain syndromes, labor analgesias etc. We have an sectional Pain Clinic which runs a rented OPD where patients with various pain syndromes are attended to. Various invasive procedures are washed-up for the management of the same. In addition, peripheral procedures such as pediatric and sultana MRI’s, endoscopies, ultrasound-guided procedures etc are washed-up under the expert guidance and superintendency of an anaesthesiologist. The department moreover runs a state of the art IntensiveSuperintendencyUnit which provides facilities for the management of critically ill medical and surgical patients. The ICU is manned by a group of skilled intensivists who are involved in the 24-hour superintendency of critically ill patients. The ICU’s are equipped with the latest machinery and provide quality health superintendency to the patients admitted there. Beyond patient service, we are moreover involved in medical education. It urgently participates in ensuring that patients are provided with unscratched and constructive anesthesia for ramified surgical problems. It has moreover been running a postgraduate programme (M.D. and D.A.) since 1962.
